The Jones Family
Raising cattle and children since 2001
In 2001, Randy and Beth Jones purchased land in Greene County, North Carolina with a simple goal: raise cattle and raise children. Both Garrett and Colleen grew up doing daily farm chores and showing livestock in competition, and the whole family has stayed active in North Carolina’s agricultural community ever since.
Over the years the operation grew from show cattle into a commercial beef herd built around high-performing genetics and meat quality. Today our beef is pasture-raised, all natural, and never given added hormones. Cattle raising runs deep in this family — our grandchildren are the sixth generation of cattlemen to grow up working this land.
Meet the Team
Randy & Beth Jones
Veterinarian & Bookkeeper
Randy studied at NC State for both undergrad and veterinary school and has practiced since 1985, running Livestock Veterinary Services for 30 years. Beth, a Campbell University graduate and former county health inspector, keeps the books. Together they founded Wheat Swamp Angus 25 years ago.
Garrett, Chelsey & Wade Jones
Farm Operations
Garrett is the full-time farmer of the family, responsible for daily operations and the quality of every animal we raise. With Chelsey and Wade, he represents the next generation of the farm.
Colleen Jones
Marketing & Inventory
Colleen handles social media, inventory, marketing, and this website. She holds an Agricultural Business Management degree from NC State, works in animal health pharmaceuticals, and lives nearby in Kinston, NC.
